March 12, 1868

Entry from Dai's Journal.

March 12,1868
It's been a long time since I've written. Silar denied any involvement with our plan. Just as we planned. I took the punishment for both of us. It was painful, as usual. They have yet to realize that physical pain has nothing compared to seeing your brother grow further and further away from you.
It was a relatively fast punishment. My blade hand was set on a stone, and then took my favorite blade and it hilt into my hand. Silar says it may heal. All the bones are fragmented, and the tendons and the ligaments have all been severed by the bone fragments.

I didn't give them any satisfaction though. Not one scream of agony escaped my lips, nor did I shed a single tear. I didn't struggle. My only fear is that my blade hand will never be able to handle the axes that fill my daydreams
I'll consider myself blessed if I can even use a small dagger after what happened.
