I was a princess in the Shadow Realm. My father helped lead and control both the Realms of the Shadow and various Covens above. My name said it all Shadowbug a play of Shadow warrior.
I was destined to be a warrior perhaps even lead one day. But, it changed with one act of curiosity. That day the portal to the above had been left open and I couldn't resist. I went up.
It was an accident really stumbling upon Blood Moon. They were out hunting and just tracked them...it wasn't to hard. I watched the vampires hunt. I was thrilled that these were the creatures that someday I would protect.
Oh. I forgot to mention that we as Shadows are not allowed to imbibe blood. Which is what caused the whole mess that day.
I had met the queen and sworn my loyalty to protect her. I had politely declined be marked as well. It had been a good day when Hunters approached and I defending the queen was badly injured. I ended up drinking blood and she tried to turn me but a bad reaction on turned my arm.
But I was tainted and disowned. I met Sardo around that time and my father let it go. He turned me over to Sardo. As if I was merely a servant. But I was ok because I had found the coven.
